Atili Oil is edible. It can be used for food in applications very similar to how premium grade extra virgin olive oil can be used. The fruit the oil comes from is an edible fruit known as Atili fruit in English or Canarium schweinfurthii botanically. The oil is a cold press from the fleshy, oily interior of the fruit, similar to how one can squeeze out oil from ripe mashed Haas avocado. For whatever way you decide to use this oil (for food and/ or for external use), it does not disappoint. It is a very potent oil with a robust nutritional profile. The state Atili fruit grows in, Plateau State, has one of Nigeria's most fertile grounds.
